A demonstration
of basic physical proficiency and understanding of the following Ho-Sin-Sul (Self Defense) techniques on both your left and
right side;
At least two throws against an attack with an inward strike with a knifehand

least two throws against an attack with a turning kick
At least two throws against an attack with a side piercing kick
A Scissors-Kick Take-Down attack to the legs against an L-Stance
as well as a demonstration that the knowledge and physical
proficiency of all Ho-Sin-Sul techniques learned at previous belt ranks has been maintained.
A demonstration of basic physical proficiency
and understanding of both power and technique breaks on 1" pine boards. These will include several specific hand and foot technique breaking requirements for 2nd Geup Low Red Belt, as well as some from previous rank level breaking requirements. Breaks will be selected
by the testing candidate and/or specified by the test board.
Passing the 2nd Geup
Written Test within two weeks of testing. This test will cover the required knowledge learned at all previous
belt ranks as well as the following 2nd Geup knowledge requirements;
The pattern history, pattern diagram, and number of movements for the pattern Toi-Gye
The meaning of the color of Red Belt
The nine points to be observed while performing patterns
Training expectations for the Chang Hon Kwan
Taekwon-Do class are as follows:
Active workouts in approximately 7-8 classes/month for at least 3 months at a 3rd Geup High Blue Belt level;
Active workouts in approximately 7 classes in the three weeks just prior to the
next testing; and
Students work out on
their own outside of class on an average of four-and-a-half hours/week during this time.
Tournament
competition in both Patterns and Sparring in at least one tournament during this testing cycle is required.
Participate
in two-and-a-half hours of community service type activities is required during this testing cycle.
A
150 word report on the Student Oath of Taekwon-Do. Focus on at least two of the five parts of the Student Oaths, and describe how you have used
them in your personal life.
Rank Promotion Testing
The actual requirements AT
testing for 2nd Geup Low Red Belt will consist of a physical test and an oral examination. The physical test will consist of a
demonstration of the pattern Toe-Gye, as well as random elements of Taekwon-Do selected
by the test board. These random elements will
be selected to include requirements learned at this level (listed above), as well as some elements from previous belt rank testings.
The oral examination will consist of random questions covering required knowledge learned at this and
all previous belt ranks.
