A
demonstration of basic physical proficiency and understanding of both power and technique breaks on 1" pine boards
and concrete tiles. These will include
several specific hand and foot technique breaking requirements for 3rd Dan Black Belt, as well as some from previous rank level breaking requirements. Breaks will be selected
by the testing candidate and/or specified by the test board.
A demonstration of the knowledge of, and physical proficiency with, all of the Ho-Sin-Sul (Self Defense)
techniques learned at previous belt ranks on both your left and right side.
Preparation of a Ho-Sin-Sul routine demonstrating defenses against multiple attacks against one armed
opponent. It will be restricted to two minutes in length.
Passing the 3rd Dan Written Test. This test will cover the required knowledge learned
at all previous belt ranks as well as the following 3rd Dan knowledge requirements;
The history, diagram, and number of movements for the pattern Eui-Am
The pattern history, pattern diagram, and number of movements for
the pattern Chung-Jang
The pattern history, pattern diagram, and number of movements for
the pattern Ju-Che
The pattern history, pattern
diagram, and number of movements for the pattern Go-Dang
The two classifications of instructor in the ITF;
At least eight
of the tools of the hand and arm;
The characteristics
of a Close Stance with a Heaven Hand (mo-a seo ha-neul-son);
The characteristics
of a Close Ready Stance type D (Mo-a Jun-bi Seo-gi D);

Training expectations for the Chang Hon Kwan Taekwon-Do class are as follows:
Active workouts in
approximately 7-8 classes/month for at least 24 months
at a 2nd Dan Black Belt level;
Active workouts in approximately
80 classes in the twelve months just prior to the next testing; and
Students are expected to workout on their
own outside of class.
At least one year of teaching experience as an
assistant instructor of a Taekwon-Do class during this testing cycle is required.
Tournament competition in at least two tournaments
as a Black Belt during this testing cycle is required.
Participate in 40 hours of community
service type activities during this testing cycle.
A 500 word thesis comparing each of the similar components in both the Student's
AND the Instructor's portion of the Student Instructor Relationships.

Testing
The actual requirements AT testing for 3rd Dan Black Belt will consist of a physical test and an oral examination.
The physical test will consist of a demonstration of the patterns Eui-Am, Chung-Jang, Ju-Che, and Go-Dang, as well as random elements of Taekwon-Do selected by
the test board. These random elements will be
selected to include requirements learned at this level (listed above), as
well as some elements from previous belt rank testings.
The oral examination will consist of random questions covering required knowledge learned at this and
all previous belt ranks.
